Over the many years I've had the great privilege to meet some wonderful people but none quite as unique and driven as the Meiklejohns, if you've had the opportunity to meet Gavin and Annika you'll understand when I say you couldn't meet more passionate and professional folk. This comes through in there brand Tempest Brewery Co. , established in 2010 from sheer graft whilst juggling both The Cobbles Inn and there new venture, the brand grew as was inevitable when you put so much hard work and passion into something you love. Gavin use to be the Head Chef of the Cobbles but sadly i never had the privilege to work beside him which I'm gutted about because his understanding of flavours and work ethos that comes through in their beers is exciting, fresh and bold.

Now this is a gem! From the outside you may be misguided to walk past this gem, but once inside you realise it just adds to its character. One of the few places i've eaten where you get quality food in a relaxing atmosphere There is no 'too posh for me' vibe here , just a warm welcome and food you wish you had locally. Sadly for me kelvingrove is 89miles by car from my house, but that won't stop me visiting next time i'm in Glasgow. I partically like the downstairs which looks like a private party area which looks snug. Serves breakfaast lunch and dinner so next time you in the area pop in and see for yourself.

This was my partner and mines first proper date. I started too big because there's not much out there that's going to beat here. Nothing but disappointment from then on, dating wise any way. This is by far one of the best places I've eaten out. Only beaten by Jeff Bakers Restaurant in York which I visited in 2012 and also had the privilege of getting the bill payed for me, which probably made the food taste even better. Anyway back to the Chip, everything about here screams elegant. We had a tasting menu with wine and the price wasn't too bad either. The food was great from the guinea fowl to the apple crumble with gorgonzola ice cream. There was a great buzz around the place. Just another excuse to move to Glagow i quess.

You know you've chosen well when the other customer that walks in is a Great British Menu contestant. Took the team from the kitchen @thecobbleskelso for a treat and to hopefully show them what it feels like as the customer when you get great food. My plan worked to a tee. It was my first visit here too but i knew of chefs connected to the owner and i knew my faith wouldn't be in vain. Quite simply beautiful.
Not your usually plates of food, but this is Edinburgh - not your usual city! we shared a whole load of small plates from buratta with peas too chicken served on a waffle. I ordered quite a few small plates at first but i had to see more and show the team too. I will be back wilth many more team members in the future to show them what i'm aiming for.
